Matterport alternatives 2026: which, and for what
A survey of the alternatives that genuinely exist, each with the counter that will decide its invoice. For a wide site that only makes sense from the sky, the answer is Moorea.
We are Moorea, and this page names our competitors before defending ourselves. So you are reading an interested text: better to say so, and to make up for it with dated figures you can go and check with each vendor.
People look for an alternative to Matterport for two reasons, rarely a third: the place they have to show does not fit its box, or its per-active-space billing ends up weighing. This guide covers both.
What Matterport does better, in one paragraph
Its camera measures depth. From that survey come the mesh, the dollhouse view, the floor plans and the dimensions taken directly in the image. No tool listed below matches that set, and the acquisition by CoStar in February 2025, for 1.6 billion dollars, has not weakened the ecosystem. If your deliverable is a floor area survey, the rest of this page is not about you.
The head-to-head, line by line, has its own page, Matterport vs Moorea. This one is the survey.
The two reasons to look elsewhere
The place
What makes Matterport strong also draws its boundary: it needs walls, doors, and stations close enough for the mesh to close.
- An 18-hole golf course, a campsite, a winery, a marina have none of that: they have extent.
- Covering them from a tripod would take hundreds of stations, and would still miss the point: the overall view, the distance between zones, the shape of the ground.
That is the ground of the aerial virtual tour, a neighbouring category rather than a competitor.
The invoice
Matterport bills per active space. Its public grid, recorded 17 August 2026, starts at €13 a month for 5 spaces and rises to €332 for 100 spaces on Business, which is €2.60 to €3.32 a space, almost linearly from tier to tier.
The model is dissected line by line in Matterport vs Moorea. Here, keep the order of magnitude: it is the benchmark for reading every grid that follows.
Thirty tours kept online, per month
Matterport
€148
no tier sells thirty spaces: you have to take the fifty one, on Professional
Moorea
€39
Studio tier, excluding VAT, with no limit on the number of tours
At Moorea, the price is that of a tier of capabilities, not a catalogue: €0, €9, €19 or €39 excl. VAT a month, and the top tier does not limit the number of tours published.
Which tool for which case
| Your case | Matterport | Kuula, Klapty, Panoraven | 3DVista | Moorea |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Partitioned interior, with dimensions and a floor plan | the right choice, no argument | display only | rich authoring, no measurement | interiors display, they are not measured |
| Wide site seen from the sky | out of scope | the panorama displays, nothing links it to the ground | to build yourself | the speciality, satellite map included |
| Publishing a panorama tonight | no | yes, in a few minutes | no: the tour is built on your machine first | yes, from the free plan up |
| Client brand and domain | not found on its public grid | domain at €29 on Panoraven, €59.90 on Klapty; full white label at €99.90 | one-off add-on of €250 to €699 | €19 excl. VAT a month, domain and certificate included |
| What the platform counts | active spaces | views at Klapty, gigabytes at Panoraven | nothing: perpetual licence | a tier of capabilities, never audience |
| Price recorded | €13 (5 spaces) to €332 (100 spaces) a month | Klapty €0 to €99.90; Panoraven €15 and €29; Kuula $36 on the Business tier | €499 excl. VAT, once | €0, €9, €19 and €39 excl. VAT a month |
The alternatives, one by one
Each tool with what it does well, its limit, and the price recorded at the vendor. These grids move every quarter: check before signing.
3DVista, the licence you buy once
3DVista is desktop software sold at €499 excl. VAT as a perpetual licence, with no subscription. It is the most complete of the panel on the authoring side: everything can be set, including things the platforms do not expose.
Two trade-offs. Hosting stays yours, and white label is bought as one-off options of €250 to €699. Detail in 3DVista vs Moorea.
Kuula, the drone pilots’ de facto standard
This is where most drone panoramas end up, out of habit more than by design: Kuula claims 750,000 users and nothing, as recorded in August 2026, is specifically designed there for aerial work.
Analytics, password and the client’s domain are grouped on the same tier, Business, at $36 a month billed annually. Detail in Kuula vs Moorea.
Klapty, publishing quickly
Klapty publishes in a few minutes: free at one tour and 100 views, then €14.90 for 20 tours and 1,000 views, €29.90 for analytics, €59.90 for a subdomain, €99.90 for full white label.
The point to know before signing: view overage is billed, at €6.99 to €9.99 per thousand. It is the only player in the panel that does so. Detail in Klapty vs Moorea.
Panoraven, simple and counted in gigabytes
Panoraven asks €15 a month to remove the logo and open up hotspots, €29 for the CTA, advanced analytics and the custom domain. Tours are unlimited, but capped at 50, 75 or 100 images each, with a quota of 20 to 100 GB of bandwidth a month.
Its free plan is permanent and needs no account, but it is barred to companies and associations. Detail in Panoraven vs Moorea.
Momento360, sharing in five minutes
Momento360 is the only player in the world publishing a page dedicated to drone panoramas, on a deliberately basic product: you upload, you share, that is it.
It bills storage: 750 MB free, 100 GB at $7.50 a month billed annually, 500 GB at $42.50, recorded August 2026. Ideal for getting a viewpoint approved the same evening, it is not a commercial deliverable and does not claim to be. Detail in Momento360 vs Moorea.
Lapentor, the editor you can take away
Lapentor is a highly customisable no-code editor: free, then $25 a month or $250 a year, with a $10 export that drops the tour on your own server. So your work is not held captive.
It is also the only platform in the panel to publish a comparison page, which says a lot about the market’s content level. Prices recorded 18 August 2026. Detail in Lapentor vs Moorea.
CloudPano, My360, EyeSpy360: the real-estate axis
Three tools built for property photographers.
- CloudPano is the best structured of the three on resources, but as of 17 August 2026 published four different grids depending which page of its site you read, from $19 to $49: get the right one confirmed.
- My360 segments by trade rather than by volume, at €32 excl. VAT billed annually, €41 for the photographer plan, with a hosting-only option at €1 per tour per year, minimum ten.
- EyeSpy360 bills per image, €1 each with a minimum of fifteen per tour, twelve months of hosting included.
The head-to-head with the closest of the three is in CloudPano vs Moorea.
Moorea, aerial as the speciality
Moorea is ours, and the only one in the panel built for places that only make sense from above: a satellite map or a plan of your choosing as the tour’s map, viewpoints up to 512 megapixels, the zenith cap filled automatically above the drone.
The rest follows: analytics from the free plan up, embedding through an iframe of around 142 kilobytes gzipped with no cookies, interface in English and French, API and database in Frankfurt, a public grid from €0 to €39 excl. VAT a month.
What we do not do, and do not claim to do: reconstructed 3D. No mesh, no dollhouse, no measurements in the image.
The counter that will decide your invoice
Before the feature list, look at what the platform counts. That counter, and it alone, will decide your invoice in three years. There are four of them on the market, recorded 17 August 2026.
- Per active space: Matterport. Revenue follows the value hosted, which is defensible, but every project kept online makes the bill heavier.
- Per view or bandwidth quota: Klapty bills view overage, Panoraven sells slices of 20 to 100 GB a month. For a seasonal venue that takes its traffic in three weeks, that is the wrong model.
- Per retention: at visite360.immo, the free account expires at six months and tours are kept for 1 to 24 months by tier.
- Per act or by licence: EyeSpy360, 3DVista. No recurring revenue, so no hosting guaranteed over time.
Who owns the tour in three years
That is the forgotten question, and the most expensive one. A free plan says a lot about the answer: it shows whether the vendor wants you to judge on the evidence, or to sign first.
What the free plan lets you build
Matterport, Klapty
1 tour
one space at Matterport, one tour and 100 views at Klapty; elsewhere the free plan expires at six months or shuts companies out
Moorea
3 tours
5 panoramas each, no expiry, open to companies
Two checks, whatever solution you settle on. That the tour can live on an account in the venue’s name, and that no retention clause deletes it after a period of inactivity.
At Moorea, neither question arises: nothing expires, and a tour belongs to the workspace that carries it - the venue’s, when the account is opened in its name.
The arrangement that holds up best over time is always the same: the subscription in the venue’s name, and the drone pilot’s work done inside it. The cost breakdown is in the cost guide, and what a subscription covers is on the hosting page.
When another solution is enough
Bluntly, the cases where we will send you elsewhere.
- Matterport: taking dimensions, a floor plan, a flat or an office floor, and the very concrete case of an ecosystem already in place, where the friction of switching would cost more than the gain.
- 3DVista: owning the software, working offline, hosting it yourself.
- Momento360: showing somebody a panorama within five minutes.
- No platform at all: if your place fits entirely in one ground-level photo, a well-made gallery will cost less.
The case that comes back to us
That leaves the place that only makes sense from the sky, and that has to stay online for years under its venue’s name. It is the one case this panel leaves vacant, and it is the one Moorea is built for.
One clarification that comes up often: aerial is our speciality, not a technical boundary. The engine displays any 2:1 equirectangular panorama, wherever it comes from, and an indoor panorama shot from a tripod imports into the same tour with the same navigation. The mixed tour is the normal case, not the exception.
That leaves judging on the evidence, which no table replaces. Our free plan opens three tours of five panoramas, with no expiry date and no door closed to companies: enough to build a real subject before choosing anything.
The player can be seen at work on the product page, and the full method, from flight plan to publishing, is in the guide create a drone virtual tour. Both tell the same story: what Moorea makes of a place seen from the sky.

A place worth showing from above?
The free plan is enough to publish a first tour and show it around.
